Company Description

The mission of Mountain Family Center (MFC) is to “build strength and develop self-reliance for individuals and families through responsive and collaborative resources.” MFC was founded in Grand County in 1979 as the Fraser Valley Women’s Resource Center. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of a growing community and now serves as a “resource hub” for all community members including men, women, children, seniors and even pets! MFC’s food pantries see over 7,000 visits per year. Other services include housing and utility assistance, health advocacy, senior transportation, nutrition education, backpacks and school supplies for children, holiday programs, financial assistance for cancer treatment, clothing vouchers, family development/mentoring and more. For services not provided directly, MFC works closely with other organizations and entities in the community to help clients find the appropriate resource to meet their needs.
