Grand County Search & Rescue Logo
The Grand County Search and Rescue (GCSAR) team provides four-season emergency backcountry service to residents and visitors of Grand County, Colorado and other jurisdictions upon request. The GCSAR is an all-volunteer organization comprised of individuals who have a passion for the outdoors and for helping others in need. To become a team member, no prior experience is required in the rescue environment as members are provided with a year-round training regimen that focuses on the skills necessary to work as a team of professional rescuers.

The men and women who make up the GCSAR team are tied together by one common goal – helping people. The group helps people who are lost or injured in mountain terrain. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
