Generally, counties are responsible for law enforcement, the provision of social services on behalf of the state, the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges, collecting taxes, property assessment, public records, local elections, vehicle licensing, natural resource management and guiding land use development in unincorporated areas. Grand County has over twenty departments and nine elected officials.
Intern positions are available in the following departments:

GIS Information Systems
Public Health Water Quality
Please see attached sheets for details on each position. *If the offered positions do not fit your skillset and/or preferred situation, please provide a proposal to include what you are interested in, etc. This information will be reviewed to see if you can be placed elsewhere.
Position Status and Pay Rate:
Most positions will be available approximately May through August, with the possibility of continued part time, year-round status for some. Unless otherwise noted, the positions are open to high school and college students. These positions offer flexible scheduling and will be paid $15.00 – $18.00 per hour, and possibly higher depending on the job and student education level. No benefits.
