Job Description


Assist in daily operations of the Bike Shop.  Responsible for downhill and cross-country bike fleet maintenance as well as assisting guests through entire process, from paperwork to proper fitting of rental equipment, providing repairs to bikes and equipment, and ensuring guests have a memorable experience.


  • Extensive knowledge of maintaining all bikes and equipment
  • Maintain rental fleet and inventory, including bikes and equipment, on a daily basis.
  • Provide quality, professional repairs and service to guests’ bikes and equipment daily.
  • Complete data input and organization of all paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Complete all aspects of assisting guests with bike rentals, from completion of proper paperwork, adjusting and fitting rental equipment, to answering guest questions.
  • Clean, organize and maintain all equipment and facilities in the Rental, Retail and Repair Shop daily.
  • Provide coaching and lessons to beginner and intermediate riders as requested.
  • Prevent theft, internally and externally daily.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient rental, retail and repair shop daily.
  • Daily reporting of inventory for rental fleet repairs.


  • Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
  • Assist with retail sales as requested.
  • Effectively interacts with the balance of the staff at the Bike Park and Granby Ranch to assure progress toward the accomplishment of overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Work with others courteously and act as a team player.
  • Look for better ways to serve the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.


  • Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
    • Passion and interest in Downhill and Bike Park Riding.
    • Extensive knowledge of maintaining all bikes and equipment
    • Proficient with all bike shop tools and machinery
    • Self-motivated
    • Ability to interact socially and courteously with guests and coworkers
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Computer skills
    • Non-biased, tolerant, and objective
    • Disciplined, responsible, and accountable
    • Ability to communicate with guests, staff and management team
    • Ability to be flexible
  • Education or Formal Training:
    • High School diploma preferred
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience with bike or ski rental operations preferred.
    • Prior experience with bike repair and maintenance
    • Prior experience with trail maintenance preferred
    • Prior experience in bike instruction a plus
  • Working Environment:
    • Indoor and outdoor environment, includes nightly sweep outside
    • Extended time lifting bikes, tools and equipment
  • Physical Activities:
    • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds repeatedly.
    • Ability to operate tuning equipment and general tools.

Benefits Include:

Housing is available for $450-$900/month (depending on the season, location, private or shared room, and unit type). Rent is not included as part of the compensation package and is taken directly out of paychecks. A $300 security deposit and $75 non-refundable administration fee is required upon arrival, with a lease for the term of employment.

Having a car is recommended but not required; limited transportation is provided from all housing locations to Granby Ranch.
