Job Description


Performs daily Bike Patrol operations and maintains a safe environment on and off mountain for Granby Ranch guests.


Performs daily patrol activities, including but not limited to opening and closing trails, inspecting and adjusting pads on lift towers, snowmaking hydrants and light poles, marking obstacles, maintaining fences and boundary markers, identifying and marking bike hazards.

Assist guests in every aspect of resort operations, daily.

Maintains a neat and orderly first aid room, daily.

Handles lift evacuations, first aid and transport of injured guests from the mountain and all facilities of the resort, as required.

Reads, understands and adheres to the current Bike Patrol and employee policies and procedure manuals.

Attends and maintains up to date medical and company policy training.


Attends and adheres to ongoing training programs.

Performs general building maintenance when required.

All other duties as assigned.

Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.




Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

Ability to interact courteously and honestly with guests and fellow employees.

Superior bike abilities and stability on all terrain and in varying weather conditions.

Drug test and background screening may be required.

Valid Driver License is desired.

Education or Formal Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

College degree desired.

Must possess current OEC, EMT certifications or higher.

Must possess current CPR certification.


Experience with mountain biking required.

Bike test per trail-on-the-job trainings.

Working Environment:

Work is primarily on mountain on a bike.

Work schedule is Weds-Sunday, weekends are required.

Outdoor work in mountain environment with variable weather conditions.

Physical Activities:

Must be physically capable to perform strenuous exercise at 8,000 – 10,000 feet with adverse weather conditions.

Must own downhill or Enduro bike that passes safety inspection and is in suitable/rideable condition at management discretion.

Granby Ranch provides helmet every other season; knee and elbow pads, jersey and shorts for uniform.

Lift up to 50lbs

80% of position is walking, hiking and biking

20% standing and sitting
