Location Grand County is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains just 90 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The county seat is Hot Sulphur Springs. Grand County is 1,850 square miles in size and has a year-round population of approximately 14,600 people. Because Grand County offers year-round recreation, it is not uncommon to have in excess of 35,000 people on any given weekend, winter, spring, summer, or fall. Attractions Some of our popular hot spots are Winter Park Resort, Mary Jane Ski Area, Sol Vista Resort, Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Reservoir, Grand Lake and  Rocky Mountain National Park. Grand County is also known as a “Sportsman’s Paradise.”  Grand County has some of the best big game hunting and fishing within the state of Colorado.
