POSITION SUMMARY:

The Porter cleans, maintains, organizes, and stocks all housekeeping areas, such as: storage closets, linen chute rooms, administration offices, employee breakrooms, employee bathrooms, linen storage rooms, etc. This employee will remove all trash and soiled linen from units, while answering the radio and fielding guest/supervisor requests as needed. The Porter will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes.
WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Hourly pay range: $21- $22

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Keeps floors swept & mopped
  • Vacuums carpet, shampoos carpet, and vacuums furniture when needed
  • Empties and cleans all wastebaskets
  • Removes all soiled linen from the hallways and transports the soiled linen to the storage area
  • Removes all trash from the hallways and transports to the trash room
  • Answers the radio and responds to any guest/supervisor requests
  • Stocks housekeeping closets with all necessary linens, guest supplies, and cleaning supplies (keeping the closet clean and organized)
  • Reports any inventory concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Housekeeping Manager
  • Tidies all employee areas and housekeeping closets (keeping things in their correct location)
  • Prepares all soiled linen for pickup by Linen company and moves all clean linen to the appropriate location for storage
  • Assists Housekeepers when needed
  • Notifies the Maintenance Department of any necessary repairs or concerns
  • Notities supervisor of any work place or safety concerns
  • This position requires working weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to communicate well by speaking, writing, and reading in the English language.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred

Experience:

  • Less than high school education
  • Up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
