POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Early Childhood Teacher position is a year- round key position at the Early Education Center. Assistant Early Childhood Teachers are responsible for assisting the lead teacher with educating, supervising, and caring for the children at the EEC.
The curriculum philosophy for our school encompasses play-based learning, supported with a thematic, web-design lesson planning process that meets the developmental domains and objectives set forth in Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Teachers have responsibilities and requirements, including but not limited to:
- To provide a safe, pleasant environment and attentive childcare with an emphasis on the children’s emotional, physical, and social needs.
- To effectively assist lead teacher in managing children in a classroom setting.
- To maintain safety and supervision of all children.
- To assure compliance of all EEC, Winter Park Resort, and The Colorado Office of Early Childhood policies and procedures.
- To perform daily childcare duties as set forth by the lead teacher and directors, including but not limited to feeding, changing diapers and all other basic needs of the children.
- To cooperate with lead teacher to formulate and implement daily, weekly, and monthly educational activities for Toddlers and Preschoolers.
- Assisting the lead/directors in keeping accurate attendance records for each child.
- Maintain the EEC in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Maintain professional communication with parents and staff.

Teachers must meet education and experiential requirements, register and complete classes in a Colorado statewide professional development system, as well as completion of 15 hours of Continuing Education annually.
All early childhood professionals must complete a fingerprint and child protection background check, as well as any other required classes or trainings pertinent to their job.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Early Education Center employees will be required to supply and/or obtain the following:
1. First Aid Certification
2. Infant/Child CPR certification
3. Record of immunizations
4. Physical examination
5. Fingerprints
6. Central Registry Background check
7. Three written references
8. Emergency contact information
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
An Assistant Early Childhood Teacher must met one (1) of the following qualifications:
- Completion of one (1) of the Early Childhood Education course
- A minimum of nine (9) months (1,365 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than eight (8) years of age who are not related to the individual.
- Must be enrolled in and attending the second (2nd) Early Childhood Education course, which will be used as the basis for their qualification for the position of Early Childhood Teacher; or, Completion of two (2) of the Early Childhood Education courses referenced in Section 7.702.43, B, 3, with a course grade of “C” or better and no experience; or, A current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I or higher in Version 3.0 as determined by the Department.
WAGE:
The base hourly pay range represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort’s hourly pay for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Hourly pay range: $22 – $24.50 DOE
