Job Opening – Appraiser I or II (One Open Position)

 

Position Information:

Department:  Assessor

Location:  Hot Sulphur Springs, CO

Full Time Position (1950 annual hours)

Full Benefits (medical, dental and life insurance, retirement plan, paid leave time)

Pay range (1950 annual hours):  $47,339.06 – $71,604.58 (Appraiser I), DOQE

$49,706.02 – $75,184.81 (Appraiser II), DOQE

Hiring Incentive:   $5,000.00 ($2500 paid after 6 months in position, $2500 paid after 2 years in position).

 

Position Summary:

Grand County is seeking one individual to join the Assessor’s Office.  Placement as an Appraiser I or II will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.

 

This role performs technical duties involved in the collection and analysis of data for residential, agricultural, and small to medium commercial properties.  Key responsibilities include:  Conducting property valuations for assessment purposes, performing complex appraisal duties and site inspections, collecting and analyzing descriptive property data.  Please see job descriptions for additional duties.

 

Position Requirements:

Appraiser I

  • High school diploma or GED (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Valid State of Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must obtain Colorado Ad Valorem Appraisal license and meet all continuing education requirements.

 

Appraiser II

  • High school diploma or GED (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Successful completion of at least one appeal/County re-valuation cycle.
  • Valid State of Colorado driver’s license.
  • Must currently hold a Colorado Ad Valorem Appraisal license and meet all continuing education requirements.
