YMCA of the Rockies is seeking an HVAC Technician to help maintain and repair the heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems that keep Snow Mountain Ranch operating year-round.
Located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, this position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a mission-driven environment while supporting thousands of guests, campers, and staff each year.
What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems across the property
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
Respond to service calls and emergency repair needs
Install, adjust, and service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and manufacturer specifications
Assist with training and technical guidance for team members as needed
Support the Buildings and Grounds team with facility maintenance projects
What We’re Looking For
You are a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in quality workmanship and understands the importance of reliable building systems.
Ideal candidates will have:
At least one year of HVAC experience
EPA 608 Certification
Knowledge of heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems
Experience reading schematics and technical plans
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
Work indoors and outdoors in all seasons
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Stand, kneel, bend, climb, and reach throughout the workday
Work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in confined spaces when necessary
Perform maintenance duties in varying weather conditions, including snow and extreme cold
